Insatiable urge for technology

For most Homo sapiens the insatiable passion for owning the un-understandable is common. With years this syndrome has achieved a status of physical and mental limitation. And thanks to some whiz kid, it has got itself a pretty hip name as well. Technologically Challenged.

I recently came across a victim of this very syndrome. This very specimen had all the right symptoms. Excess income to splurge. Just the right internet connection to feed her brains with all kinds of technological jargon, the pivotal tool, the credit card, used to sell such gizmos to numb-nuts aka Technologically Challenged.

Marketers of these gizmos are by far the smartest people on this planet. Had this breed of executives been around during the Pre-World War 2 era, they would have sold the idea of German engines running in American cars, which would in turn be sold to the Europeans at atrocious prices. Not to mention the Middle-Eastern oil that would have been used to sell this concept further.

The product in question now is the IPHONE. It was so well packaged that the customer was made to believe that breathing is more difficult compared to using the phone.

But once u buy the product u realise that it is indeed difficult to breathe when you are using this phone, coz all ur energy is concentrated on either killing the phone or urself. So while numerous Iphone owners are queuing outside the physiatrist’s clinic to determine if their inner morale is too weak to cope with the technology or is it the suppressed stressed that’s rendering them physically and mentally challenged to use a mini-light-weight-technological marvel.

The astrologers are enjoying this event too. Many with beliefs in afterlife and previous lives are queuing to determine if the Iphone is the Almighty’s way to declaring their incompetence in this lifetime or whether this is a punishment for their past sins.

All I know is, in the game between marketers and the Technologically Challenged, the score stands

Marketers: - 1

Technologically Challenged: - 0

Until Next Time…..

Who is Neo?

After watching the recent Hulk flick, it got me thinking on a different subject all together. When it comes to super heroes, how relevant is their day job to their after dusk adventures. Superman for example, he reports crime and gets news, pretty much gets first hand. Incompetence of the law enforcers could be a reason why he has taken it upon himself, still doesn’t explain the conspicuous underwear malfunction.

Spidey too is a photographer, for a newspaper.  So he’s got his sources to get crime information. But what about our very own Neo…..the man who turned the matrix upside down. The man who brought down an evil empire like a house of cards. Am sure he must have a very very important daytime job. That gave him an insight in the world of crime.

But when it came to crafting a hero to save the matrix, an evil algorithm, the conceptulisers didn’t put that much thought behind it. So what we have is a superhero who although does save the world at night…but during the day…..looks for over-paid gas receipts and misused company internet connection AKA….Tech Support Exec.

It’s Recess in Iraq

Remember the time when you were in school and longed for the vintage school bell to ring, marking recess for the day. Recess, a time to rejuvenate your senses, show-off ur just-about-growing-moustache to your friends, wait for the “IT” girl to pass you in the corridor, so u can steal a smile. It really was the time to look forward to in school…that and lab lessons…. loved making things combust. Not to mention setting the bio-lab animals free as if they were on an educational trip.

While it may not quiet be the same in Iraq, but the principle daily here does seem to believe so. The headline in today’s daily reads “Iraqi Government Calls for Foreign Investment in the Oil Sector”.

It’s official…. Iraqi Oil wells are on sale…. It’s the big guy in the white mansion saying, guys the hard work is done, we’ve fooled the world with our bullshit of WMD…and now it’s time to swan-dive in the deep oil reserves of a country, which we have brought down to mere tatters and reap the benefits for the rest of our lives.

I think the reason for the war is not the threat of attacks, nor is it anything with terrorism…it’s all about the flawed retirement fund structure in the US. Why else would a man, so close to retirement, enter in not one, but two wars, across the globe…. it just can’t be to sustain the sanctity of the society, it’s to ensure that the horsies in his ranch are well bred for years to come.

Here’s an advice free of charge…wanna avoid another war, get into the system and do something about the pension plans….or else tomorrow, some other insecure old man will wage a war, just because he wants a condo in Florida!!!!!

Until next time…..
Keep smiling.
